Background

Born in Tailfeather, this Ishgardian (who hates the cold) turned adventurer to earn money to support her younger sister, Kitteren. Eventually her exploits earned her a fair amount of fame, though she'll not want to admit to it.Quiet and shy, Ketayl often finds herself at a loss of what to do when she becomes the object of attention outside of a battleground.She is well versed in the arcane (as well as other disciplines), and is often found being trailed by a carbuncle who seems to have a death wish whenever there is water nearby.Somehow she maintains a leadership position of a free company as well despite her hectic schedule. Though if you ask her, it's mostly paperwork and akin to herding small children.She has a home in Mist along the beach, though she can just as often be found at Silver's house in the Lavender Beds.She had been scouring Ishgard's records at one point, realizing her records within the company were incomplete, looking for her own information. The lack of a trail had her suspecting she wasn't in fact born in Tailfeather and might not be Ishgardian. Having tracked her past through the Dravanian Hinterlands, she began to wonder if she was from the Sharlayan motherland. Spending much time in Sharlayan after the Final Days, she eventually found the answers she sought, but now has more questions.

Other Relationships

Ketayl is bonded to Silver Blaise. Their often opposing schedules due to their different lines of work will kept them apart for lengths of time. At least until Silver was reassigned and now travels with her.The circumstances of their bonding still haunt her to some degree, always causing her to question her position in their relationship. Having eventually voiced this concern to Silver, he proceeded to convince her to go through the ceremony with him again, renewing their bond as a couple this time instead of for convenience.What she hadn't expected with going through the whole process again was for her perception of their relationship to have righted itself. Nor had she realized that Silver had felt the same way as she had previously.
